Yes, I'm alive. I've just been 'absent' so to speak. I've been planning a consolidation of on-line resources that I'm responsible for and so while I won't completely tear down things like MySpace and MyMSN space, they will be little more than shells linking to sources I have better control over.
DevinatART is a favorite of my artsy acquaintances, so it'll never die. And I hope they don't take 'artsy' to insult as it is a gift I wish came as naturally to me.
And since it seems that this generation holds a great value in sharing and being open, perhaps I've even start using this online journal thingy for its assumed purpose.
That said, I have a gripe that I have no clue what to do about. My sis is off in seemingly another world. For Easter, while I admit I had commitments with my in-laws, my family apparently put together a care package to send to our absent sis. What irks me is that I had no clue. I don't recall any word of the plan and yet, if it was on Easter, they have to had planned it ahead of time and not last second which is a common malady apparently aligned with my blood.
Whatever the case, I feel left out. I would have loved the opportunity to be included in the giving. Some feel that since you choose your friends and not your family that there is a closer bond (and while I don't agree); in fact, common originally to gang culture in LA and seemingly adopted by this digital generation, you would claim friends as family (admittedly I do that too).
But it seems to be a growing rarity to find both true friend and family in the same individual. Sis is one of those. I don't think I've ever referred to her as lil'sis even though there is nothing out of place in the label, but I view her as an equal despite the years between us and to press the lil' would in some way constitute a rather rude 'cohai' distinction. Not that these honorifics actually translate to a crass language such as I was born to, but the internal difference is enough that I would be uncomfortable.
It seems I have taken digression to a new level...
